2. The Sitting Room

Building B, also known as the Phillip Building is located in between building C and building K, connecting with building C as well, residing on Sir John Monash drive. Building B can be entered in various ways.
Sitting Room
The coffee shop is located on the second floor of Monash University Building B, based on the client's desire for a bright and clean coffee shop style with a work area and a seating area.
Coffee brand in standing room compared to sitting room. However, it is necessary to add a rest area on the basis of the design again, so that guests have a place to rest.
The budget of the cafe is generous.
Executive Summary Operations
-Operating hours: The Sitting Room will open from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
- Staff: Two staff preparing and serving drinks and food.
-Work flow: Coffee-making and food-heating processes are kept as separate as possible to avoid collisions between staff.
- Deliveries: Customers need to pick up their own order.
- Cleaning : Baristas need to keep the kitchen counter clean at all times, and the food in the food display area should be kept in order to ensure that the food is presented to the customer in the most perfect condition.
- Display: Food and coffee bean displays will be placed to the left and right of the cashier, so that the staff can quickly heat up the food or pick up the coffee beans after the customer has ordered.
- Seating: Seating for maximum 20 patrons. The seating area will provide long periods of time for comstomers.
Function
- Cofffee making area
The coffee making area is a rectangular area consisting of 3m x 4m. There will be a part of the seating area where guests can wait for their coffee. The ordering and food display areas are on the same side, and the coffee making and washing areas are on the same side, so that the work flow of both sides is separate and the work efficiency is higher.
- Sitting area
The sitting area and work area are separate so that customers can have a better coffee experience. The lounge area is a large table, in order to provide a space for students to discuss and communicate.
